 Akanu Ibiam Federal Poly Unwana Revised Academic Calendar for 2021/2022 Session has been Reviewed.

                                 

The management of Akanu Ibiam Federal  Polytechnic has published a reviewed academic calendar for the continuation of academic activities, 2021/2022 academic session.

The Directorate of Academic Planning and Development wishes to announce a slight adjustment at this end of the first semester on the resumption of activities in the second semester of 2021/2022 Academic session

This is to accommodate the ongoing CBE examination which is billed to conclude on Monday, 5th of October and the Psychometry examination [Online] which will be written on Thursday, 7th & Friday 8th October 2021, respectively



Consequently, all academic activities, including lectures, are expected to resume on campus on Monday 11 October 2021. This date will mark the beginning of the second semester 2021/2022 session.

FIRST SEMESTER

  • June 14 – September 17, 2021 (13 weeks) *
  • June 14———————Registration continues *
  • August 19 —————-Registration closes *
  • August 20 —————–Matriculation *
  • August 23-25 ————Orientation of fresh students *
  • August 30 ——————First-semester exam begins *
  • September 17 ————-First-semester exam ends (3 weeks)

SECOND SEMESTER DURATION

  • Monday 11 October 2021 ————The second semester begins
  • December 20, 2021 ————-The second semester ends

Court recommends out-of-court settlement for FG and ASUU

  A Court of Appeal in Abuja has recommended an out-of-court settlement to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government, following ASUU’s 14 grounds appeal. Recall that ASUU had filed a 14-grounds appeal over the court order issued by a national industrial court in Abuja asking the union to call off its ongoing strike. Justice Georgewill Biobele Abraham who presided over the case, asked the counsel to the Federal Government, James Igwe (SAN) and that of ASUU, Femi Falana (SAN), to first sit down as lawyers, take a patriotic position and convey the position to their clients. He said: “There is time for everything, time for war, and time for peace. As Ministers in the temple of justice, we want to see the two of you as senior lawyers encourage and explore amicable settlement of this dispute. “In fact, we expect to return to this court on Thursday with the good news that the dispute has been thrashed out and all the appreciation of Nigerians will go to you. “
